On a rocky outcrop stands the Castlepoint Lighthouse, overlooking the expansive Pacific Ocean. The Lighthouse was built in 1913 and is popular spot for dramatic photography.
The walk up to the lighthouse is short and easy, roughly 500m. From the end of Jetty Road, walk across the beach and up the boardwalk. You can continue up past the lighthouse itself for incredible 360 degree views, and great photos are guaranteed. Look out over the iconic lighthouse, Castle Rock, Castlepoint Beach, the rugged coastline, and the vast ocean. It is recommended to keep to the path on this walk, as the rocks can be uneven and dangerous, especially when it’s windy.
